Following her very successful stints as bassist for both Hole and The Smashing Pumpkins, Melissa Auf Der Maur decided to create a solo record. The tracks were written over a 10 year period, throughout her time in Tinker, Hole and The Smashing Pumpkins. Featuring some very prolific guests, ranging from former bandmates Eric Erlandson (Hole) and James Iha (The Smashing Pumpkins) to Queens of the Stone Age frontman Josh Homme, Auf Der Maur has been credited as a provocative record. Following a successful UK tour, the singles Followed the Waves and Real A Lie both broke into the UK Top 40. Melissa Auf Der Maur is currently in the studio writing and recording her second album.
