Historically, pseudocyst of the auricle has been termed endochondral pseudocyst, intracartilaginous cyst, cystic chondromalacia, and benign idiopathic cystic chondromalacia.
The etiology of pseudocyst of the auricle is unknown, but several pathogenic mechanisms have been proposed.
