Autism Speaks was founded in February, 2005 by Bob Wright and his wife Suzanne, to help find a cure for autism, a year after their grandson, Christian, was given the diagnosis. Autism Speaks, based in New York, New York, raises funds to facilitate autism research, to improve public awareness of autism, and to give hope to those who suffer from autistic spectrum disorders.
