History
The group was formed in 1994 by Anthony Santos, Lenny Santos, Max Santos and Henry Santos . They originally went by the name Los Teenagers (The Teenagers). They later decided to change their name to Aventura. In 1999, Aventura signed with BMG. Three years later they gained recognition with the album We Broke the Rules and the smash hit Obsesión, now a staple at Latin dance venues around the world. In 2005, Frankie J did an English cover of the song and saw success with it and the remixes that followed. Controversy In late 2006, Aventura was banned from ever performing in the Dominican Republic. The incident involved a minor who got on stage while Aventura was performing and began dancing inappropriately with member Max Santos. Aventura stated that they did not know the girl was a minor.
