He was born in Israel and taught for some time at Brigham Young University. However, some of his writings were not well received by Church authorities, and he was let go. His book on Isaiah and the last days which was published by LDS-owned Deseret Book was later pulled from the shelves. He was excommunicated from the Church for undisclosed reasons.
