Avraham Sela is an Israeli authority on the politics of the Middle East and international relations. He studied at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem gaining a BA in 1971, an MA in 1974 and a PhD in 1986. Sela is currently professor of Middle East studies in the Department of International Relations at the Hebrew University and visiting assistant professor of political science at Colgate University.
