Avtozavodskaya is one of the Moscow metro stations on the Zamoskvoretskaya line. It was built in 1943 (chief architects - A.N.Dushkin and N. Knyazev). The main construction material is marble. The walls are decorated with mosaics depicting events of the Great Patriotic War 1941 - 1945.


In February 2004 there was a terrorist bomb explosion beetwen Avtozavodskaya and Paveletskaya stations with more than 40 people killed, so this name became badly known to all people watching news channels.

Reuters reported that after the blast all roads were blocked within the 300-meter radius around Avtozavodskaya station when the victims of the blast and fire were being brought out.
