Ayr railway station is a railway station serving the town of Ayr, South Ayrshire, Scotland. The station is managed by First ScotRail and is on the Ayrshire Coast Line. Ayr railway station is located beside burns statue square in Ayr. The Station has excellent services with a half-hourly service on weekdays and saturdays to Glasgow Central station and an hourly service on Sundays. There are also services to Girvan, Stranraer, Kilmarnock and Newcastle on a less freguent timetable. The service from Ayr to Glasgow is one of the busiest on the Network with serious overcroweding. There are calls for the service to be upgraded to a 20 minute service.
