Azam Khan is a famous Bangla (Bengali) pop singer. He was a fighter who fought against the Pakistani army in the Liberation war of Bangladesh in 1971. After the war, he introduced an energetic brand of music. His famous tunes include "Ore Salkea, Ore Maleka", "Ami Jare Chaire", "Ashi Ashi bole tumi", "Rail liner bostite..".


Now in his 50s, Azam Khan still has a cult following among people in their 20s as well as earlier generations who are in their 30s and 40s.
