The Hull-based programme was launched in November 2002 with Helen Fospero and Peter Levy using a studio built in the existing Radio Humberside building in Chapel Street. In 2004 Look North, along with Radio Humberside and the Online/Interactive Project moved to their current home in Queen's Gardens. Broadcast from Belmont transmitter (the tallest structure in Europe) it is one of the BBC's newest regions. Before November 11th 2002, this region was part of a larger BBC Yorkshire and Lincolnshire region, served by Look North from Leeds. The programme can be watched in any part of the UK (and Europe) on digital satellite channel 977 on the BBC UK regional TV on satellite service.
