BBC Radio Leicester is the BBC Local Radio service for the English counties of Leicestershire and Rutland. It broadcasts from its studios in Leicester on 104.9 FM, DAB and on the website via Real Player. The old 837 kHz medium wave signal from Leicester has now been commandered by the BBC's asian network, a popular service in Leicester. It was the very first BBC local radio station, first broadcasting on 8 November 1967.
