The BET Hip Hop Awards are an annual awards show, hosted by BET, for hip hop performers, producers and music video directors. The awards ceremony began in 2006. The first ceremony was held on November 12, 2006 in Atlanta, Georgia at the Fox Theatre and was first aired November 15 at 9 p.m. on BET. It was hosted by comedian Katt Williams.
