Bastiat Free University: BFU. A group of experimental colleges seeking to provide rational learning outside of public domain control. A primary goal is student self directed education at no or little cost. A secondary goal is defined as "renaissance education," avoiding subject divisions and specialization by seeking diverse knowledge integrated with action. The objective of these goals is to prepare the student for the emerging information age rather than the ending industrial age. This transitional focus requires a new learning model emphasizing adaptability, reputation, and Coalesced knowledge.

This page expands a three-character combination which might be any or all of: an abbreviation, an acronym, an initialism, a word in English, or a word in another language. If an article link referred you to this page, you may wish to change the link to point directly to the intended article.
BFU is simple to use and normally takes only a single argument: a path to the set of archives you wish to install.
BFU saves a copy of each configuration file it would overwrite under /bfu.child; likewise, it stores a copy of each such file from the cpio archives it is extracting under /bfu.parent, having moved the previous BFU's /bfu.parent (if any) to /bfu.ancestor.
BFU classes will be offered weekday nights and weekends, both fall and spring terms, at various Homewood campus locations and at branches of the Enoch Pratt Library.
BFU is used to update all ON bits, both kernel and userland.
Like bfu (see section 5.3), Install is rather closely attached to its particular release, so you should use the current version from the gate matching the release you are building.
BFU often takes less than 10 minutes to run to completion, and if you are upgrading from a recent build, conflict resolution will usually take only a few minutes.
