BJ's Wholesale Club, Inc. (NYSE: BJ) is a warehouse club chain operating in the eastern United States from Maine to Florida and in the state of Ohio. The first BJ's opened in Medford, Massachusetts in 1984. As of January 29, 2005 BJ's operates 157 warehouse clubs. Today, BJ's common stock is traded on the New York Stock Exchange under the symbol "BJ". It was spun off from Zayre, a discount department store chain.
