Baazi is a 1951 Indian hindi movie. Dev Anand's Navketan production house produced the movie, and as per a commitment given by Dev Anand to Guru Dutt in their days of struggle, the movie was directed by Guru Dutt. The movie stars Dev Anand with Geeta Bali and Kalpana Kartik. It is a crime thriller and had very popular music composed by S.D. Burman. Dev Anand in Taxi Driver Dev Anand (born September 26, 1923) is an Indian actor and film producer. ... Guru Dutt (1925 - 1964) was a famous Indian film director, producer and actor. ... Geeta Bali was born in late 1920s in pre partition Punjab as Harkirtan Kaur, she was a Sikh , her family moved to Bombay and were living in near poverty when she started to get breaks in films. ...


TRIVIA Guru Dutt kept only half of his commitment to Dev Anand, he was to direct Dev Anand in his production, though he cast Dev in C.I.D. , Raj Khosla directed it.

In fact Baazi set the tone for the spate of urban crime films that were to come out of Bollywood in the 1950s and early 1960s.
Baazi also showed a criminal hero with a tough as nails exterior but of course with a heart of gold inside.
