Synopsis

Morris Buttermaker (Billy Bob Thornton) is a washed-up alcoholic minor-league baseball player. He is an exterminator, who was kicked out of professional baseball for attacking an umpire. He is a crude womanizer. He leads a baseball team of poorly playing teenagers. Amanda Whurlitzer (Sammi Kraft) is a daughter he had with one of his ex-girlfriends. At his request she joins the team. They do not win, but have the satisfaction of trying, knowing that winning is not so important.
