Controversy
Balakrishna was in the news in 2004 when he was accused of shooting a movie producer at his house in a fit of drunken rage. As is common among rich personalities in India, upon arrest he immediately complained of medical troubles and was hospitalised. All charges against him were dropped when the victim turned hostile(It was alleged that immense pressure was applied upon the victims - presumably by the Balakrishna camp - to drop the charges). This case was portrayed in the Telugu media as a typical example of the rich and powerful getting away with anything.
In 2004 there was a murder attempt on his producer Bellamkonda Suresh and the whole incident happened in this actor's house. Bala Krishna was charged of that murder case.That was supposed to be one of the most unfortunate incidents in Telugu film Industry. But finally he was acquitted of this case.

Suresh, 38, and assistant producer Satyanarayan Chowdhary, 50, during a drunken brawl at his Jubilee Hills residence here late last night.
Balakrishnas wife Vasundhara rushed to his rescue and shot at Suresh and Chowdhary with her licensed revolver.
