Ballinakill (Baile na Coille in Irish, meaning "the town of the woods") is a small town in County Laois, Ireland. It was originally a typical market town, with a planned street layout being implemented in the 18th century. A castle, Ballinakill Castle, is situated on the R432 road near Abbeyleix. The population is according to the 2002 census 682 (347 males and 335 females).
