Ballykelly (Baile Uí Cheallaigh) is a village 3 miles west of Limavady and contains some of the most interesting buildings erected in Ulster by the Plantation companies. More can be found about the Plantation companies here: http://freespace.virgin.net/mp.hearth/Fishmongers.html


Between Limavady and Ballykelly is the Rough Fort, a prehistoric earthwork fort in the care of the National Trust. More information on the Rough Fort is here: http://www.ntni.org.uk/places/placestovisit.cfm?id=42.


Nearby is Sampson's Tower, a fortified structure built by public subscription in memory of Arthur Sampson who for 40 years was an agent of the London Fishmonger's Company.
