Ballyronan is well known locally for its marina. The tourist facilities at the Marina previously included 2 Slipways, a safe harbour with 72 berths, boat park, picnic areas, play park and a set of public toilets. This is the only facilities which were included in the Marina until the late 1990's. The year 2000 saw the creation of a community centre based in the Marina. The community centre is named, The Marina Centre. The Community Centre is run both by, The Cookstown District Council with The local Traad, Ballinderry and Ballyronan Development Association. The Community centre, which includes a function hall, offices, café, retail/work units, chinese restaurant and public toilets. There is also a Woodland Nature Trail 'Ballyronan Wood', which through specific pathways, view points and information signage, highlights the natural beauty of the area. A new Play Park was also created alongside the Community centre. There are 3 good pubs in the village (and more nearby i.e. within 5 kms) - often these pubs have live music in the evenings. Entertainment

The village boasts four pubs all of which cater for the different backgrounds which can be found in the village.


The "Cove Bar" mainly caters for the young teenagers and twentysomethings of the village. The pub conprises of two section the bar and the 'back' which hosts many 18th birthday parties. The projection TV is an attraction to the people who socialise in the pub and usually hosts many of the major soccer and gaelic footbal matches as well as Horse Racing events.


For a more quite and peaceful pub experience, walk accross the road to "Hawthorne's Bar" and you'll meet some of the genuine 'old timers' of the village and surrounding areas (as well as many younger ones). Sometimes of an evening, you'll encounter a pub sing-along in true Irish style.
