The Balonne Highway, a state highway of Queensland, is the continuation westward of the Moonie Highway from the town of St George to its termination at Cunnamulla. It follows the Balonne River for the most part and is named after it. Continuing along the Balonne Highway towards Cunnamulla, I was hoping to find a track or four-wheel-drivable countryside to get me a bit closer to the confluence.
Unfortunately I couldn’t find either, so I was left with a 1.85 kilometre walk from the highway to the confluence.
