Banat Uprising was a rebellion of Serbs living in Ottoman Empire that has started in Bosnia and spread across Serb- populated areas of the country. Serbs have protested against their second- class position in the Empire which favoured Turks and Muslims and had a discriminatory policy towards Christians who represented vast majority of Balkan's population. The rebellion resulted in Turkish vengeance and public burning of Saint Sava's bones on the Vracar plataoe in central Belgrade which marked the beginning of dark era for the Serbs living in Turkey and eventually in form of 2 Great Serbian Migrations.
