The Playdia was a video game console released in 1994 by Bandai. It was only released in Japan. It was intended for a young audience and the controls were suitable simple. It was the only traditional console ever released by Bandai except for the handheld WonderSwan Color; Bandai did, however, also manufacture the Atmark interactive multimedia player, also known as the Apple Pippin. The release price was from $250 to $300.
A few interesting games were released for it: Dragon Ball Z Shin Seiyajin Zetsumetsu Keikaku Chikyu Hen, Dragon Ball Z Shin Seiyajin Zetsumetsu Keikaku Uchyu Hen, Sailor Moon S Quiz Taiketsu!, and SD Gundam Daizukan.
The animation used to portray this storyline was originally released as a two-volume VHS "Visual Strategy Guide" for the NES video game of the same name.
It was later recycled for use in a two-volume series of PlayDia games (also of the same name).
The footage was included in 2003 on Toei Animation's second DBZ "Dragon Box" set in Japan (a gigantic DVD boxset containing remastered video footage; this particular footage was not remastered, and simply included "as-is").
