Banff and Buchan is a constituency of the Scottish Parliament. It elects one Member of the Scottish Parliament (MSP) by the first past the post system of elction. Banff and Buchan was formerly a local government district in the Grampian Region of Scotland.
Created in the local government reorganistion of 1975, it combined the Aberdeenshire district of Buchan with the town of Banff and its surrounding portion of the county of Banffshire (the rest of Banffshire became part of the Moray district in the Highland region).
The area is still used as the Banff and Buchan British parliamentary constituency and the Banff and BuchanScottish parliamentary constituency.
