Encyclopedia > Bangor, Australia

Bangor is a suburb of Sydney, Australia. It is adjacent to Menai.

Situated in Sydney's south, in the Sutherland Shire, as of 2004, there is construction of a roadway bypass, interfacing with the new Woronora Bridge in Menai, New South Wales in order to ensure more efficient traffic flow through Menai and linking to Alfords Point and the Alfords Point Bridge, towards Bankstown and Sydney's west. Bangor and the surrounding Menai area are prone to bushfires in the summer, most recently in 1994, 1998 and 2003. The construction of a BYPASS is nearing final stages of construction to Alleviate the bumper to bumper traffic on the main road.
