The Banjo Story is the first known Beck recording. A home-made tape from 1988 that was never actually released, but made it on to the trading circuit.

Several of the songs have two titles. This is because the original bootlegger made up his own titles when the tape was first copied - these are given in brackets. Beck's actual titles come from the j-card that came with the cassette, assuming that was written by Beck.
