Banting Memorial High School is the only secondary school located in Alliston, Ontario, Canada. It is part of the Simcoe County District School Board and as of 2005 has a student population of approximately 1,800. The school is named in honour of Sir Frederick Grant Banting, a key member of the Canadian scientific team that discovered how to extract and use insulin for treating diabetes mellitus. In 2004, Banting Memorial High School was the first secondary school to adopt a "casual tie Friday" dress code when students could wear a casual shirt and a tie on the day of the same name. 2004 (MMIV) was a leap year starting on Thursday of the Gregorian calendar. ...

Banting is also the first secondary school in the county to put forth a Beer Drinking Team, led by Ben Skillings and Pat Galvin. Dream Team is currently the champions standing at a impressive 8-0 record in Flip Cup. They are open to taking on any challengers. Team Puma is encouraged to retire with what little pride they have left. It's too bad that some of the members of the Dream Team have no drinking ability and are lightweights. Any other flip cup players could fill their spots. None is that however compares to the weak drinking ability that of Team Puma, led by Jon "Not The Champ" Brownridge, who nearly lost to Team Ovaries, an all female team. Lets not forget everyone, the time when Stefan got kicked out of semi after being there for 10 minutes. Also the time when everyone in the graduating class of '07 received a text asking "How was your average" the minute after mid-terms were handed out!
