Banto Zame comes from a planet called Osfocus, a place that the Doctor describes as a “super-dense mud ball”. Banto retorts saying it was terraformed five thousand years ago. Artists conception of a terraformed Mars in three stages of development. ...


It is also revealed that Banto is married, much to Sally-Anne’s distress. But this doesn’t seem to stop his advancements on other people.


Banto and his assistant Sally-Anne Stubbins arrived in the Generios system in the guise of the Doctor and his companion. Their arrival coincided with the appearance of an alien race known as the Skelloids, who are bent on the total destruction of the system’s peace loving citizens. “the Doctor” manages to defeat them by reversing the flow of hydrogen from their ships’ hydrogen stabilizers. The Skelloids are stopped and the people of Generios consider the “the Doctor” and Sally-Anne heroes. But none of it was real. The Skelloids and their ships were mere holographic projections and there was no threat against Generios. It was all apart of Banto Zame and Sally-Anne’s plot to swindle 100,000,000 credits from the people of the system. At this time, the real Doctor and Mel arrive in the system. And following the information they receive from the reveling people, the two arrive at the Great Council Chamber of Generios and encounter their doppelgangers. An alien cylinder also arrives in the system at this time and demands the three greatest treasures of the system. And following some convincing, Banto and Sally-Anne accompany the Doctor and Mel to find the treasures. Bonnie Langford as Melanie Bush (from Paradise Towers). ... Upon their return to Generios One, the cylinder accepts the treasures and is lead to believe that Banto Zame is the Doctor. The cylinder says its masters, the Sussyurats, have been looking for the Doctor. It leaves, taking Banto with it. The Doctor says he’s never met the Sussyurats, and when he does, he plans on being especially rude. He also adds that he will go and rescue Banto, but for now, the universe only has room for the one Doctor

Banto is furious that the Doctor is copying his con game, and the Doctor is enraged that his good name is being used to exploit innocent people.
Banto conducted some research on the Generios system before his arrival, and he knows that there’s something significant about Generios Eight, but he can’t remember exactly what it is. As time is pressing, the Doctor decides to take Sally-Anne to the fourteenth planet to collect the second treasure, while Banto and Mel remain here.
Banto is drawn away, struggling and protesting in vain, and the Cylinder departs, apologising to the people of Generios for the inconvenience.

Terrified, Banto and Sally-Ann try to escape in the STARDIS, secretly containing a teleporter, but the Doctor and Mel force them to the TARDIS, which convinces Banto that the Doctor is the genuine article.
Banto and Mel find themselves in a furniture warehouse and he remembers that thousands of years ago crazed robot Assemblers killed the entire population.
Sally-Anne realizes she doesn't need the company of Banto Zame to make something of herself and enjoys the rewards of the grateful citizens of Generios, while the Doctor and Mel depart, first to fulfill a promise to the friendly Jelloid, then to rescue Banto Zame...
