Bao Tong 鮑彤 (born 1932) was a member of Secretariat of the CPC Central Committee and the political secretary of Zhao Ziyang. He was "isolated" on May 29, 1989 due to his support to the democracy movement. He was sentenced to a 7-year-prisonment in 1992. Under international pressure, Bao was released in 1996. However until today, he is still under house arrest.
