In September of 2001 BaoSteel, according to 9/11research.wtc7.net, was sold 50,000 tons of high-quality, UL-tested structural steel eminating from the World Trade Center for a below-market price of $120 per ton. The then going rate for scrap construction steel was $160 per ton.
