Barajevo (Serbian Cyrillic: Барајево) is a suburban settlement and one of 17 municipalities which constitute the City of Belgrade, the capital of Serbia.
Municipality is located in the low part of Šumadija, southeast of the Belgrade, with an elevation spanning from 140 to 364 m.
In 1957 a nearby municipality of Beljina was annexed to Barajevo, and in 1960 Umka municipality haas been divided between Čukarica and Barajevo (villages of Meljak and Vranić).

In 1957 the Municipality of Beljina was joined the Municipality of Barajevo, and in 1960, when the Municipality of Umka and Stjepovac were disbanded, the settlements Vranic, Meljak, Veliki Borak and Siljakovac became members of the Municipality of Barajevo as well.
The domicile of the Municipality is in the settlement Bargdan.
Barajevo borders with the Municipalities of Cukarica and Vozdovac in the North, the Municipality of Sopot in the East, Lazarevac in the South and the Municipality of Obrenovac in the West.
