Barbara Buono (born July 28, 1953) has been a New Jersey State Senator since 2002. Senator Buono is currently serving as the Democratic Conference Chair. She is also the Chairwoman of the Senate Wagering, Tourism, and Historic Perservation Committee, and the Vice Chairman of the Senate Intergovernmental Relations Commission. Buono is also on the Budget & Appropriations Committee along with the Health, Human Services, and Senior Citizens Committee. Barbara Buono was elected to the New Jersey State Senate in 2001 to represent the 18th Legislative District, which includes East Brunswick, Edison, Helmetta, Metuchen, South Plainfield, South River and Spotswood.
