Bardo was a duo formed to take part in the BBC's annual A Song for Europe contest. They won the event in 1982 with the song One step further which went on to represent the UK in the Eurovision Song Contest, held that year in Harrogate, North Yorkshire. In 1980, as part of the group Prima Donna, she represented the UK at the Eurovision Song Contest in The Hague where she finished in third place with Love enough for two.
