Bark Like A Dog was Screeching Weasel's first album back after their second breakup. This split lasted just over a year, and during that time 3/4 of the band (all minus Jughead) played together in a band called The Riverdales. As a result, much of this album sounds similar to their work in that band. It also marked their first album for Fat Wreck Chords after several years working with Lookout Records. Bark was released to mixed reviews, but the band lists it among its very best work. The recording itself sounded a bit more polished and the band's playing a tad more precise, calling some fans to label them "sellouts." Further fueling this fire was Green Day's explosive success, pushing pop punk into the limelight right around the time that Weasel reunited.
