Athletic success Barnstable High School sports teams are known as the Red Raiders, a name they share with, most notably, Texas Tech University. Red Raider teams have fared very well in recent years, the most successful being the girls' tennis program. In the 2006 spring tennis season, the entire team went undefeated in the regular season and team captain Lauren Donnelly (her 2nd consecutive championship) and her partner Kourtney Kelly won the South Sectional doubles championship, also earning recognition as Boston Globe All-Scholastic Team winners.
