The title Viscount Bayning of Sudbury was created for Sir Paul Bayning, Baronet. Sir Paul had previously been created a baronet in 1611 in the Baronetage of England and Baron Bayning (1628) in the Peerage of England. On the death of the second viscount all these titles became extinct. However, in 1674 Anne Murray, daughter of the first Viscount and sister of the second, was created Viscountess Bayning of Foxley for life.
