Baron Dunfermline, of Dunfermline in the County of Fife, was a title in the Peerage of the United Kingdom. It was created in 1839 for the Whig politician and former Speaker of the House of Commons James Abercromby. The title became extinct on the death of the second Baron in 1868. James Abercromby, 1st BaronDunfermline (7 November 1776 - 17 April 1858), Speaker of the British House of Commons 1835-39, was the third son of General Sir Ralph Abercromby.
After the Reform Act of 1832 he sat for Edinburgh, Scotland until 1839, when he was created BaronDunfermline, of Dunfermline, Fife, Scotland.
