The title of Baron Lloyd was created in the Peerage of the United Kingdom in 1925. It became extinct upon the death of the 2nd Baron in 1985.

Andrew Lloyd Weber, as he is more commonly known, is the man who took modern musical theatre to the masses; putting together blockbuster musical productions, he brought the worlds of opera and pop music that much closer together; and he penned some of the most memorable tunes of the last three decades.

Lloyd Webber was born on March 22 1948 in South Kensington.
Lloyd Webber first gained success at the age of nineteen, when he and Tim Rice were commissioned to write "Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat" for a high school in 1968.
Lloyd Webber and Rice continued to collaborate and later produced "Jesus Christ Superstar" (1970) and "Evita" (1976), both of which were released as albums before being brought to the stage.
