Viscount Runciman of Doxford, of Doxford in the County of Northumberland, is a peerage title in the Peerage of the United Kingdom. It was conferred on Walter Runciman, a politician whose career included service as a Member of Parliament, President of the Board of Trade and Lord President of the Council. Lord Runciman of Doxford also holds the title Baron Runciman, of Shoreston in the County of Northumberland, which was created for the 1st Viscount's father in 1933, and which was still held by his father at the time of the creation of the Viscountcy, hence the title being Runciman of Doxford rather than simply Runciman. He is also a United Kingdom baronet.
Baron Roberto Alaimo lived during King Frederick II’s reign which began in 1208 A.D. and ended in 1250 A.D. and we know that he eventually became the Baron of Lentini.
None the less the Barons of Sicily proceeded with their plans and signed a letter that was sent to Peter of Aragon requesting that he assert his right to rule over Sicily.
The significance of the Letter of the Barons is that this document asserted a principal that the people had a right to have voice in choosing their rulers.
