Encyclopedia > Barrow Hill Engine Shed

The Barrow Hill Engine Shed is a former Midland Railway 'roundhouse' in Derbyshire. Operational between 1870 to 1991, it was closed after a period of low usage. After becoming a listed building and following extensive renovation, the roundhouse and associated lines were re-opened in 1998 and are now are home to many preserved locomotives.

This locomotive is preserved by the AC Locomotive Group at Barrow Hill Engine Shed.
The second engine was 83004 which on December 24, 1977 was severely damaged in a collision with a Class 47 at Willesden.
In 1983 ten of the remaining thirteen engines were withdrawn, all being sent to the Vic Berry Scrapyard in Leicester.
Adventure Gamers : Barrow Hill (1396 words)
Barrow Hill is played in a first-person perspective, similar to another recent indie horror, Scratches.
Each scene is structured and supported by the next in varied ways, so that you're constantly on edge as you move around, whether from the subtle music that seems to swell from a mist or the lonely sound of the crickets as you move further away from your single point of civilization.
Barrow Hill is a solid adventure that takes actual fact and blends and warps it to its own blend of reality through a haunting landscape and highly mysterious circumstance.
