Barry began playing the clarinet in 5th grade, encouraged by his parents to play both "Classical" music and the popular "Standards" that they recalled from their youth.
Barry currently tours with the Harry James Orchestra, with which he has recorded 4 CD's, and works in New York, touring nationally and internationally.
Barry also adjudicates at educational solo and ensemble festivals, and educational jazz festivals.
