Basavanagudi is one of the few remaining relics of "Old Bangalore" where you find wide open roads and lots of trees. It is conservative yet like other parts of Bangalore, is slowly being eaten up by the modernisation Beast. Prominent landmarks of Basavanagudi include the Bull Temple(as describeed above), Gandhi Bazaar(old shopping centre) and BMS College of Engineering, one of the oldest private engineering colleges in India(about 62 years old). The annual Kadale Kai festival in Bull temple, held around November every year, is a superb attraction of this area.
