Basic Channel is a minimal techno duo of Moritz Von Oswald and Mark Ernestus that originated in Berlin, Germany in 1993. The duo released a number of vinyl-only tracks under various aliases, such as Phylyps, q1.1, Quadrant, Octagon, and Radiance, each of which employed their signature brand of dissonant dub techno. They have also recorded together under the aliases Rhythm & Sound, Maurizio, Round One, Round Two, Round Three, Round Four and Round Five. Von Oswald has recorded under several further names as a solo artist.
