Bastar is a district of the state of Chhattisgarh, India. It is a former princely state and consists of mostly tribals (adibashis). The state is described in Nandini Sundar, Subalterns and Sovereigns. Jagdalpur, the district headquarters, is a beautiful city having population of about 1.5 lakhs (150,000).It also has many wonderful waterfalls.Chitrakoot and Teerathgarh are some of its waterfalls.To visit these waterfalls you have to visit Jagdalpur.These are situated near to it.It has also wonderful caves.One of them is located at Dantewara. Chhattisgarh (छत्तीसगढ़), a state in central India, formed when the sixteen southeastern districts of Madhya Pradesh gained statehood on November 1, 2000. ... A princely state is any state under the reign of a prince, both terms being taken in the broad sense. ... A lakh (also spelled lac or laksha) is a unit in a traditional number system, still widely used in India and Bangladesh, equal to a hundred thousand. ...
