Bashundhara City is the largest business centre and shopping mall in Bangladesh. It was opened to public in 2005. It is located at Panthapath, near Karwan Bazar, in Dhaka city. It is often claimed that Bashundhara city is the largest shopping mall in South Asia. The complex has a mall, several multiplex movie theatres, a theme park, and business offices. The mall has space for 2500 retail stores and cafeterias and also possesses a large underground gymnasium and top floor food court along with an indoor theme park. The Bashundhara City building also has rooftop gardens and is a brilliant symbol of the emerging city of Dhaka. Bashundhara city consists of 5 cinema halls.
