The Battle of Julu was fought in 207 BC between Qin forces led by Zhang Han, and Chu rebels led by Xiang Yu. Prior to this battle, the Chu army had been led by Song Yi, but after Song made a tactical error, Xiang (his second-in-command at the time) assassinated him. Xiang Yu then engaged the Qin, emerging victorious, and Zhang Han's second-in-command was captured.
