The Battle of Racławice was one of the first battles of the Polish Kościuszko Uprising against Russia.
The outcome of the battle was a tactical Polish victory, with Kościuszko defeating the numerically supperior enemy.

After the battles of Krupczyce (September 17) and Terespol (September 19), the new army started its march towards the Polish capital.
Kościuszko himself was wounded in the battle and was captured by the Russians who sent him to Petersburg.
