 | Somalia continues to be divided in terms of political, military and economic developments, with some areas of the country experiencing impressive political development and economic recovery and other areas continuing to be plagued by many of the characteristics of crisis and complex emergencies. |
| As a result, it is difficult to generalise about Somalia and an accurate analysis must account for three broad categories of political and economical realities in the country: zones in crisis, zones of recovery and zones in transition. |
