Bay de Noc Township is a township located in Delta County in the U.S. state of Michigan. As of the 2000 census, the township had a total population of 329.


Geography

According to the United States Census Bureau, the township has a total area of 235.8 km˛ (91.1 mi˛). 174.8 km˛ (67.5 mi˛) of it is land and 61.0 km˛ (23.6 mi˛) of it is water. The total area is 25.88% water.


Demographics

As of the census2 of 2000, there are 329 people, 153 households, and 104 families residing in the township. The population density is 1.9/km˛ (4.9/mi˛). There are 528 housing units at an average density of 3.0/km˛ (7.8/mi˛). The racial makeup of the township is 96.96% White, 0.00% African American, 0.61% Native American, 0.00% Asian, 0.00% Pacific Islander, 0.00% from other races, and 2.43% from two or more races. 0.00% of the population are Hispanic or Latino of any race.


There are 153 households out of which 15.0% have children under the age of 18 living with them, 64.1% are married couples living together, 2.6% have a female householder with no husband present, and 31.4% are non-families. 25.5% of all households are made up of individuals and 9.2% have someone living alone who is 65 years of age or older. The average household size is 2.15 and the average family size is 2.56.


In the township the population is spread out with 13.4% under the age of 18, 4.9% from 18 to 24, 19.1% from 25 to 44, 38.6% from 45 to 64, and 24.0% who are 65 years of age or older. The median age is 51 years. For every 100 females there are 113.6 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there are 112.7 males.


The median income for a household in the township is $33,571, and the median income for a family is $43,250. Males have a median income of $43,750 versus $30,250 for females.
