The Baya Weaver (Ploceus philippinus) is a weaver found in South and South-east Asia. The species common and is found nesting in colonies close to waterbodies. The males construct the pendulous nests by weaving straw. The nests are partially constructed when the male displays to attract females. The females choose males based on the nest constructions and once paired, the male completes the nest including the entrance funnel.
